Jesus Christ declares in this powerful passage that He is the Vine and His Father is the Vinedresser or the Gardener. The Father comes periodically to check that we are fruitful and reproducing the life that is available in the Vine that we are connected to. Fruitfulness will mean that the fruits that are coming out of your life as a branch is indicative of the tree that you are connected to. If you are a branch of an orange tree you will bear oranges, likewise if you are the branch of an almond tree, you will produce almonds. (PART 3) The word of God in Romans 4:18 says, that God not only gives life to the dead but ALSO calls those things which do not exist as though they did! Abraham and Sarah kept declaring themselves as parents and as fruitful when they were not, until they became fruitful!  This is true faith. It calls those things which we cannot see, hear, feel or touch physically as if they are here already.  Our main scripture drives this point home in a powerful way. God commands the barren woman to begin to sing and to cry aloud. Same way He changed a barren couple's names to father of multitudes and a mother of nations (Genesis 17:4-6, 15-16). BLESSED TO BE FRUITFUL...(PART 2) There is so much we can learn  from the Bible passages today. Jesus compares the kingdom of God to a seed and indeed it is like a seed; we will see that in the studies in the days ahead. A powerful truth we need to learn this month is, that ultimately God is responsible for making us fruitful. He is the one who causes conception to take place. He is the One who knows how bones grow in the womb.  If you are connected to Him in ways that He expects you to be connected to Him, you will be fruitful. I embrace and welcome September with great expectations and anticipation and I enter it with the heart of faith. In line with Deuteronomy 32:11-12, as the eagle carries her young on her wings, Lord, carry me and my family into this new season of life. As You alone led Israel, lead me Lord this September.
