The One that was promised thousands of years ago in Genesis 3, the One that was called the Great Promise of the Old Testament is finally here and He is first introduced to us in the gospel of Matthew. The gospel of Matthew presents Jesus as the fulfillment of messianic hopes and expectations. Matthew carefully structures his narratives to reveal Jesus as fulfilling specific prophecies. Matthew's use of the title "Son of God" clearly underscores Jesus deity. The word 'Messiah' means 'the anointed One". It also means "expected deliverer". This is really a derivation from the Hebrew.
