THANK GOD FOR WHERE I AM BUT.... (PART 1)
Our main bible passage today is one of Apostle Paul's powerful bible verses. In many ways it reveals to us the secret to the great spiritual achievements of the great servant of God. He said of himself "For I am the least of the apostles......but I labored more abundantly than they all" (1 Corinthians 15:9-10). The Apostle Paul writing to the church in Philippi told them that he was refusing to stop or slow down until he accomplished the purpose of God for his life. At the time Paul wrote this he had done far more for the cause of Christ and the kingdom than any other man, even greater than the disciples who physically walked with Jesus. At this time he had written most of his letters and travelled to most of the known world. The powerful lesson to take away today is that you can't rest on your past or present successes, achievements and victories. Like somebody said, put thorns in your laurels. What pictures and visions of your finish line do you have in your heart and spirit? Are you there yet? Are you in any way close to the neighborhood? Thank God for how far He has brought you. Thank Him for the little and great achievements. Always have an “Ebenezer" time with God. A time to thank Him for bringing you this far. Paul did that constantly. However, if where you are today, doesn't look like the accomplishment of your purpose and your finish line, keep going, keep pressing. It is important that you fully accomplish the assignment and fulfill the vision. Like David, die empty! This should have nothing to do with ambition, pride or ego but only for the reason that you must be purpose and mission driven to the end. Ultimately Paul said 'I have finished...". I believe for the man and woman reading this page, there are still mountains to climb, oceans to traverse, lives to impact, dreams and visions to fulfill. Thank God for the old but there is......MORE! Discover the 'more' and accomplish it! God bless you.
Question and Reflection of the Day: Are you quitting half way? Are you saying to yourself that you have done enough when the vision that God placed in your heart is far from accomplishment?
Today's Prayer: Thank you Lord for how far you have brought me but please deliver me from premature satisfaction. Bless my day, Lord Jesus.
