A COMPELLING VISION OF THE NEW.... (PART 1)
In the next few days we will spend some time with this theme. Unless you have a compelling vision of the future you will always be stuck with the issues of your yesterday. The greatest enemy of your tomorrow is your yesterday. You will never gain momentum for your tomorrow when you are still enmeshed in the cobwebs of your past. God had a new plan for Lot and his family but Lot and his family still "lingered" in Sodom. In the scripture, you will notice that Lot even in departing with his family begged that they shouldn't relocate too far from their "past". The greatest tragedy of that story is that the wife was still too entwined with their past that contrary to God's clear mandate, she looked back and immediately became a pillar of salt. The tragedy of Lot's wife should be a constant reminder to us that when God commands us to move forward and focus on the new, we should obey Him. The most powerful way we can lose SIGHT of the past is to gain a VISION of the future. Our vision of the future has to be compelling and powerful enough to make us to lose sight of the past. Where are you right now? Are you still stuck in the REAR VIEW mirror of your life? Still looking back in that area of your life when God has said to move on? The first and most important matter to settle in your heart is to know what God has said and is saying about that "past matter". If He has told you to move on and forward, please obey Him. Lose sight of the past by gaining a vision of the new. Without a new compelling vision of the future, you will still be stuck in your yesterday. Your eyes are in front of your head and not behind your head for a very important reason. LOOK FORWARD!
Question and Reflection of the Day: Is there an area of your life where your eyes are still looking in your rear view mirror? Is your hand constantly hovering on the reverse gear in that area of your life? It is time to move forward!
Today's Prayer: Father, help me to lose sight of my yesterday by creating for me a compelling picture and vision of my new tomorrow. Bless my day, Lord Jesus.
